Second Story Treasures - COVID PROTOCOL

Second Story Treasures Thrift Store

Incorporated in 1998 with a mandate to raise funds to support the Langley Hospice Society’s palliative care and bereavement support programs, Second Story Treasures continues to be a thriving presence within the community.

A unique boutique-style shopping experience located in Walnut Grove, the store is a strong and reliable source of revenue for the Langley Hospice Society.

We pride ourselves on the philosophy of “reduce, reuse, recycle and rethink” which is a plus for the environment. To that end, we really encourage people to drop off items that are gently used, so we will be able to sell them. At times, volunteers take items home to repair, paint or transform. However, as is the nature of thrift stores we are not able to sell everything and we do try our very best to keep items out of the landfill. We are very fortunate to have a company that purchases our recycling and they pay by the pound. We were astonished at year end that our recycling totalled 141,868 pounds which is equal to 70.9 tons!!

Thanks to loyal support from donors, customers, and the more then 80 volunteers who give over 18,000 volunteer hours annually, Second Story Treasures is responsible for more than 30% of the Langley Hospice Society’s annual operative revenue.

How Can You Help?

  • Donate your gently used clothing, furniture, household décor items and small appliances.
  • Become a customer by visiting our store. Every Monday our staff and volunteers re-merchandize the store and Tuesday mornings our loyal customers line up for the #TuesdayReveal, and be sure to check out #SuperSaturdays for new #FabFinds every weekend.
  • Join our Second Story Treasures Volunteer Team. Volunteers are trained and commit to one four-hour shift per week. Visit our Volunteer Opportunities page for more information.
